This fun block is featured in a new pattern – the GO! Winding Wall Hanging. The pattern is free for a limited time only, so download your copy today.
Follow along below to see how easy it is to cut and sew this block. First, start with your GO! Winding Ways die, cutting mat, and strips of fabric cut to 10 1/2″ inches.
Position your fabric on the die so that the selvedge edge of the fabric is in line with the label on the die and the cutter handle. This ensures that the lengthwise grain is traveling perpendicular to the roller.
Place the cutting mat over the die and roll any additional fabric to the side to travel through the fabric cutter.
Slide the cutting mat off the die to reveal your GO! Winding Ways pieces.
TIP: Keep you pieces organized on the cutting mat to bring them to your sewing machine.
Lay the pieces out so you can see the GO! Winding Ways block.
Sew one of the teal corners to the yellow centers. Use the helpful notches to keep the pieces in line. There are lots of different ways to sew curves – pins, no pins – do what feels best to you! Press your seam after sewing.
Next, join the bottom pieces of the block together to form one unit.
Do the same with the top of the block!
Sew each of the center pieces together.
Join the center portion to the bottom of the block.
And then sew the final seam to finish the block off!
