I just love my AccuQuilt GO! Baby® Fabric Cutter! It makes for a fun and easy afternoon project that yields very exciting results. So far we’ve done various appliqués, but we’ve discovered that we especially love the richness of these appliqués when they are applied to ticking. Ticking is a strong, tightly woven fabric of cotton or linen used to make pillow and mattress coverings. It is available for sale at jamesthompson.com. These ticking products embellished with AccuQuilt’s adorable appliqués rocked our world!!

The simplicity of the GO! Baby Fabric Cutter, as well as this project is what amazed me. I’ve discovered the GO! Baby Fabric Cutter cuts anything from velvet and felt to quilting fabric and paper. As soon as I discovered I could cut velvet, I took out my vintage velvet and started cutting. Remember to use stabilizer and iron-on interfacing to make it even easier on yourself. The GO! Baby Fabric Cutter is compatible with more than 60% of GO! dies and almost all GO! appliqué dies can go through both GO! Fabric Cutters. I used the GO! Hearts die (55029) as well as the GO! Circles die (55012) to create these wonderful items and had a blast just imagining all the possibilities with these two dies.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner so we decided to create a collection full of love, sweetness, and red hearts. I created a little ditty bag that could be used to hold a box of chocolates or a special confection for a child in your life. Just think of how many uses they will have down the road for this lovely bag.

A heart bear is guaranteed to produce big smiles and it makes a fabulous Valentine’s gift. Not only children, but also adults would appreciate receiving this adorable stuffed animal.

As for an apron, you could certainly use it to cook dinner on that special day for your loved one. It’s a great silhouette and the ticking used is practical for the kitchen. The embellishments, mainly the GO! Hearts and Circles, are what clearly put it over the top and made it ultra special.

The block is a nice added touch that can inspire love and friendship and could certainly make a fun accent on a bed, couch, or as a plush toy for a small child. I’ve featured the love pillows before, but with a dose of added charm, they reached a whole new level.

I continue to be amazed by how accurate every cut is with the AccuQuilt GO! Baby and dies. Each heart came out perfectly and looked identical to the next.

I grew up in the Virgin Islands and this is certainly evident in my work with bright saturated color. I am also a hopeless vintage romantic who has a passion for old things I held as a child. A lot of my work reflects the marriage of these two strong elements—intense color and vintage charm.

You may also notice an element of playfulness that comes across in my work. I do this because I never take myself too seriously. I’ve been known to say that letting the glitter fly is an antidote to stress. I have a new book coming out in May called Happy Home that is a testament to having a sense of humor and just enjoying the nesting process. You will see playfulness throughout the book from folks laughing and enjoying the comfort in their home to the decorating process taking place.

We love how everyone interprets everything based on their personal experience, lifestyle & taste. With our fabrics, our books and even these projects, our favorite part is watching all of you soak up the inspiration and apply it to your own lives. So much of the magic, for us, lies in seeing everyone’s interpretation.

So, what are you waiting for!? Get out your GO! Baby and start creating your favorite projects with AccuQuilt shapes. Let your creative side be inspired to make whatever you dream up. As seen in our little Valentine’s Day collection, this product was without a doubt designed to create magical quilts but is certainly not limited to that.
