I’m a Nebraska Cornhusker who loves GO BIG RED football even with my Mechanical Engineering Degree from Iowa State and MBA from Kansas University. I married my high school sweetheart and have the two greatest kids on earth and one in Heaven. I’m happiest in the great outdoors racing Ironman Triathlons, hunting with our two black labs or traveling with family. I equate business to coaching a football team. My favorite sayings are Head West!, Where's the Puck? and It's only Creative if it Sells. My team is also familiar with other ‘Steve’isms’ such as Since Hector was a Pup and Monkey Butts. I am blessed with a great team and customers who challenge us to be the best. Thank you for your support and making AccuQuilt the best! Heading West!

Favorite Quilt Block – Take 5
I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Morse Bluff, Neb., (pop. 128) where there was never a shortage of milk, cows or company (8 siblings). On a whim at 18, I moved to New York to be a nanny. I ended up spending 10 years on the east coast where I received a BFA in graphic design from the State University of New York at Purchase and started my career in a field that I absolutely love. At AccuQuilt, I’m the Marketing Director but I am also known as the ‘Master of All Creative’. I literally eat, sleep and breathe GO! green. When not at work, I’ve been known to design children’s books, partake in local art projects and of course, I quilt too!

My role at AccuQuilt is to insure our brand promise is alive and well and is clearly communicated in everything we do. Secondly I support our retail partners to insure AccuQuilt is presented and shared with their customers in a way to bring the brand promise to life as well to help meet their sales and profit objectives. I started with AccuQuilt in 2012 after honing my skills in the manufacturing sector. I was drawn to AccuQuilt as I wanted to join a team focused on being the best at what they do. The enthusiasm and dedication to providing the best product for their customers was clear when I toured the company and spoke with the employees. Every day brings new knowledge, new learning, new challenges and new opportunities which I enjoy.

I am new to the AccuQuilt Family and to the quilting world. I have been in customer service since my first job at 16 years old. I have been in the Omaha area all of my life. I have two great kids who have given me four beautiful grandchildren who are the apples of Grandma’s eye!! I like spending time with my family, Husker football and working in my yard.
I am a city boy turned country guy. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, I attended Western Illinois University earning my degree in Marketing. I met the love of my life in college and we have been married for 25 years. I have two amazing children who are both “Huskers”, they attend University of Nebraska, and Go Big Red is a common phrase. Our other child is a 120 lb black lab named Jake. My favorite phrase is “show me the math”. When I am not in the hunt for new opportunities or negotiating a deal you will find me spending time with my family, or fishing in Wisconsin.

I joined AccuCut on 3/19/12—and became part of the AccuQuilt team 2/5/13 when the Purchasing Department was combined. I am responsible for Purchasing and Inventory Management for all items in AccuQuilt and AccuCut. I love the culture at AccuQuilt – it truly is a family – not just people you work with. I love the quilts—it reminds me of my Grandmother who loved quilting, and I am fortunate to have some of her hand made quilts, and hope to pass this love down to my two daughters. I was born & raised in Omaha and I started my career in Retail 15 years holding positions in Inventory Management, Buying and Category Management. I love the fast pace of retail and making sure that we are making our customer’s happy every day! I am married with two beautiful daughters who are the light of my life!

I am new to the AccuQuilt family and quilting. I have been a sewer in the past, but never a quilter. There is a lot of inspiration to draw from at AccuQuilt so I am looking forward to making my first quilt. I have previous experience in Merchandising and Inventory Management. I have lived most of my life in Omaha and I am married and a proud mom to a teenage son and elementary age daughter.

I’ve worked at AccuQuilt for four years, and would love to give you a tour of our facility! As part of my job, I have the pleasure of working with quilters, retail stores, and quilt guilds. Quilting has been a part of my life for almost 20 years, and I'm hooked! One of my most precious treasures is a quilt that my great-grandmother and her sisters made. The pattern is Grandmother's Flower Garden and is completely pieced and quilted by hand.
I'm married and have two sons. All my guys are amazing artists, and are learning to quilt. I also have a granddaughter, Oakley, who is two and all sort of sass and sweetness. Having a new generation of possible quilters is thrilling. Family and traditions are important to me. For example, at our house we only eat warm, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies - along with a glass of cold milk!

I’m a mostly self-taught quilter with a sewing background working with costumes and a work background in sales and training. I’m currently learning the ins and outs of machine embroidery! I love spending time in our Dream Studio and always have several project ideas “brewing”. I’m married and have two wonderful daughters. My favorite quilt block is anything with a star!
I am looking forward to making my first quilt! I don’t have much experience in quilting, ok I have none. But I was told that I am in the right place to learn! I am always up for a challenge and love to learn new things. I am married and a proud mom to two boys. As a family we enjoy traveling, playing sports and being active with cub scouts.

I came back to my hometown and joined AccuQuilt almost two years ago after leaving my second home of Chicago where I lived for 22 years. While in Chicago, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Magazine Editing, and I also have a Master of Arts in Writing & Publishing. I previously worked as editor-in-chief of a small magazine. I am new to quilting, but have learned quite a bit during my time here. Periodically, I’ll see a design in a housewares store and shout, ‘Hey, that’s the Drunkard’s Path!’ I really enjoy learning and writing about so many talented individuals, and I love anything that allows the creative spirit to flourish.

I have newly joined the AccuQuilt family and so far have valued the knowledge that so many have in not only their jobs, but also in quilting. I have come from a line of sewers, and quilters so want to use some of my memories growing up with my grandparents and great aunts, family’s history and knowledge to make my own history, memories and experiences. My responsibilities are Purchasing and assisting in the Inventory Management on the AccuCut side of the business. There is something new to learn every day and is never boring, which keeps the job exciting. My husband and I grew up from around the Omaha area and have remained locally. We have a son that keeps us extremely busy with sports, mainly baseball and a daughter that we think has found her love and nitch of volleyball. We love to camp and get the kids out with us.

After 20 years in plant accounting and 7 years in corporate accounting, I started my “second career” at AccuQuilt in November 2014. To be able to merge my knowledge in accounting and my love of quilting has been a dream come true! With four daughters and three wonderful grandchildren to make quilts for, I have lots of projects in the works. I also enjoy cross stitch, knitting and reading a good book. My favorite block is the Snail’s Trail.
I am a lifelong Omahan with 40+ years’ experience in garment sewing. I discovered quilting in 2003 and have never looked back. I have a wonderful collection of my own quilts and antique quilts. I enjoy trying new techniques and still take an occasional quilting class. I recently retired from UNMC and am now the part-time receptionist for AccuQuilt and consider it the best job ever! I can see many more quilts in my future now that I can cut with the AccuQuilt GO! because there are so many patterns and dies to experience. If I am not quilting, you will find me on my bicycle or gardening. I am blessed to be married to a husband who supports my quilting habit and have four wonderful children, two daughters and two sons and two sweet baby grandsons.
For over 20 years, I have been a team leader managing projects from concept through strategic planning, implementation and review. Since joining AccuQuilt in 2015, a vital part of my role as the B2B Marketing & Event Manager is gathering, analyzing, planning, implementing and evaluating projects to advance the development from concept to completion. Although I used to be an avid seamstress, I haven’t sat down at the sewing machine for many years. Now the fun part of sewing is “cutting out the perfect pieces”.

I have been in distribution work for over 20 years, and I enjoy the fast pace the job brings, as well as having a hand in making the customer happy. Sometimes a Great Notion
Greg Gaggini (left) and Steve Nabity
You might wonder why Steve Nabity, CEO and owner, and Greg Gaggini, President, of AccuQuilt are holding a rolling pin. The answer is that everything AccuQuilt has become, started with this simple kitchen tool.
Steve was an engineer working on the invention of a machine that would cut paper shapes. While watching his wife make cookies with the rolling pin, inspiration struck. If a rolling pin could cut cookies, then why wouldn’t a rolling mechanism in his machine cut paper?
He discovered the answer was that it could. AccuCut was born in 1990 and catered to the paper crafting industry. Then Steve discovered that not only would the cutter cut paper, it would cut fabric! AccuQuilt was started in 2008 and has been serving quilters worldwide ever since.
Of course, the original cutters have gone through several iterations since those early days. The company was determined to learn exactly what features quilters wanted and needed. Quilters told us they wanted dies with ¼" seam allowances, dog-eared corners, notches, and more. They asked and AccuQuilt delivered.
We are proud that our fabric cutting systems yield accurate fabric shapes each and every time, and save time for quilters, so they can get right down to the fun part of quilting.
An unexpected benefit of the fabric cutters is that they actually help quiltmakers with a variety of disabilities quilt again. Quilters with arthritis, sight limitations, and other physical ailments were able to continue quilting because of the AccuQuilt cutting systems.
Greg Gaggini summed up AccuQuilt’s feelings about being able to help this group of quilters. “Nothing is more gratifying than hearing from quilters who have told us that we are allowing them to continue to quilt and bringing joy back into their lives.”
