Die Specifications:
- Compatible with Studio Fabric Cutter (50800)
- Required: Super Giant Cutting Plastic (PK270) and Super Giant Die Tray (406120)
- Cuts two 10" (25 cm) squares
- Quilters are likely to cut hundreds--even thousands--of squares over their quilting careers. Precision is critical to make the shapes fit together well. AccuQuilt offers a variety of dies that include squares in different sizes and configurations. All of them cut perfectly every time!
- Start by cutting 11" strips into your fabric.
- Then fold your fabric strip in half and cut 4 - 10" squares across the width of your fabric.
- You can cut 12 - 10" squares out of 1 yard of fabric.
- To create an appliqué? shape simply apply fusible web to fabric and die cut your shape. The shape that you have cut can then be adhered to your background fabric in your choice of appliqué? methods.
- All of the appliqué? shapes can be used in any quilt block design or whole cloth quilt.
- Create appliqué? dish towels by sewing on a one to two inch strip of fabric about three inches form the end of the towel. Above that strip, create your appliqué? design that you choose.
Storage: Store Studio dies in AccuQuilt die storage cases or storage racks.
Die Tips:
- With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
- Use cutting plastic that matches size of each die.
- For best results, cut with die blades running under roller at an angle. Do not cut with blades parallel to roller.
- Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
- Some dies feature specially designed corners to aid in alignment and pre-cutting.
- For fast applique, apply fusible web to fabrics, then cut shapes with dies.
- Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
- It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
Care & Maintenance: Use adhesive roller to clean lint and thread from dies. After each use, with the die pick provided with the cutter, remove any threads imbedded between blades and foam. It's normal for threads to get caught where blades meet in a die. Remove with tweezers or die pick. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
Warranty: AccuQuilt Studio dies are guaranteed for one year.

Overall Rating This die has allowed me to convert fat quarters into layer cake-sized squares to use in a multitude of patterns with great speed and ease. A fat quarter will lay perfectly on this die (and I can layer several fat quarters at once so it's even faster). It's has been a great way for me to cut larger scraps into a size that I'm more apt to use in later scrap quilt projects. This 10" square size can later be cut to a charm-square size or 2.5" strips if needed when I get around to using the fabric.

Overall Rating I like purchasing the occasional layer cake when they catch my eye and fall within my budget. With this die I can cut perfect layer cake size squares from my own stash of fabric to perfectly blend in to whatever design I am making. Whether I keep the squares large or cut in half to make triangles (or smaller), this die saves me significant time and money!

Overall Rating I just received my order with this die in the last week or so and I am so excited to be able to make my own 10" squares. I'm not a super accurate cutter, so these are easier and much more affordable to cut my own 10" square pack for a quilt.

Overall Rating I love this die, makes the perfect queen size bed quilt. Fast and easy. Love not have to rotary cut the blocks - I also like to make my own layer cakes. Easier to store fabric.

Overall Rating Have a large stash of fabrics I want to use up and tend to like quick blocks that are 61/2" and larger for charity quilts. Now have made several "layer cake" stacks from my stash ready to make some quick easy quilts! Great die!

Overall Rating As with all AccuQuilt dies, I love this one! I just received this die yesterday and have already used it to cut out PERFECT 10" squares for hot pads I am making. Each hot pad requires 5 different prints and I was able to cut out 20 squares (4 of each of the 5 prints) at one time. There was not a single thread that needed to be snipped and there were 10 layers of fabric!! Could not be more pleased!
