Summer Flower Table Runner

12 x 36 Summer Flower Table Runner

Fabric Cutter:

GO! Fabric Cutter (55100S) or GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter (55500)

GO! Cutting Dies:
GO! Qube Mix & Match 12″ Block (55778)
GO! Fun Flower (55334)
GO! Harrison Rose by Eleanor Burns (55403)

Materials Needed:
2 fat quarters – Cream batik fabrics for the blocks
1/2 yard – Turquoise batik for Harrison Rose circles and binding
1 fat quarter – Purple batik for Harrison Rose
1 fat quarter – Mauve batik for Fun Flowers
Fusible Web – 1 yard
Backing – 14″ x 40″
Batting – 14″ x 40″

Make three blocks for the table runner using both cream fabrics.

Cutting Instructions for blocks:

Using the two different cream batiks and the dies listed, cut the following:

  • Die #1 – 2 – 6 ½” square – cream A
  • Die #1 – 1 – 6 ½” square – cream B
  • Die #2 – 8 – 3  ½” square – cream A
  • Die #2 – 4 – 3  ½” square – cream B
  • Die #8 – 8 – 3  ½” x 6 ½” rectangle – cream A
  • Die #8 – 4 – 3  ½” x 6 ½” rectangle – cream B

·Arrange the pieces as shown below.

Use a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Piece the blocks and then sew the three blocks together.

Applique:

  • Cut your purple fabric into three 9″ x 9″ pieces.
  • Cut the turquoise fabric into three 7″ x 7″ pieces.
  • Cut the mauve batik into three 5″ x 5″ pieces.
  • Add the fusible web, I used Thermoweb Heat’n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive following the directions on the fusible web.

Use the  #55430 GO! Harrison Rose and the #55334 GO! Fun Flower die to cut out the flowers.

Fuse your flowers to the table runner.

Fuse the AccuQuilt GO! flowers to the table runner

Appliqué the flowers in your favorite type of stitch.

I use a straight stitch vintage Singer sewing machine and do a freemotion applique.

Layer your batting between the backing and the front.

Quilt as desired.

Free motion quilt the table runner

I did a free motion stipple quilting for the background, add your binding and it is all finished!
