Die Specifications:
- Compatible with Studio Fabric Cutter (50800) only
- Required: Giant Cutting Plastic (PK250)
- Cuts each:
- small squares 4 1/2"W x 4 1/2"H (11 cm x 11 cm) each
- one rectangle 4 1/2"W x 8 1/2"H (11 cm x 22 cm)
- one large square 8 1/2"W x 8 1/2"H (22 cm x 22 cm)
- Start by cutting 14” strips in your fabric
- Then fold your fabric in thirds and cut 3 combined die sets across the width of the fabric
- You can make 6 combined die sets out of 1 yard of fabric with 8” worth of fabric leftover for cutting your 4½" x 8½" rectangles.
- This die cuts 5 pieces at a time, time the number of layers of fabric.
- Mix and match the shapes for the Take 5 or Square Root Pattern
- The Take 5 would make quick flannel baby quilts and lap quilts.
- You can use the shapes separately for various projects
- Save time when you cut all the shapes for this popular block with a die instead of by hand. Save your quilting time for the fun part--the sewing! Cut from several colors to mix and match.
Storage: Store Studio dies in AccuQuilt die storage cases or storage racks.
Die Tips:
- With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
- Use cutting plastic that matches size of each die.
- For best results, cut with die blades running under roller at an angle. Do not cut with blades parallel to roller.
- Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
- Some dies feature specially designed corners to aid in alignment and pre-cutting.
- For fast applique, apply fusible web to fabrics, then cut shapes with dies.
- Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
- It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
Care & Maintenance: Use adhesive roller to clean lint and thread from dies. After each use, with the die pick provided with the cutter, remove any threads imbedded between blades and foam. It's normal for threads to get caught where blades meet in a die. Remove with tweezers or die pick. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
Warranty: AccuQuilt Studio dies are guaranteed for one year.

Overall Rating This die is great for quick quilts it cuts accurately every time and each time I have made this quilt up it looks different to the last simply by using different colors and turning blocks in different directions I do not know why I waited so long to buy this die it is great for beginners and advanced quilters definitely should have more than 5 stars for this one

Overall Rating This is a great die I make a lot of quilts with it. I would like it better if the small squares and the rectangle were on one die and the large square was on another die. I was doing a quilt that I used a print fabric for the main point and needed to only cut the large square for that fabric. I also needed to cut the contrast fabrics whit the small squares and the rectangle. I had to make changes to my quilt but it looks great.

Overall Rating If you do charity quilts, this is a must have. So quick and easy to cut out. And quick to sew. Would make a good beginner class quilting project. I LOVE my Studio!

Overall Rating Although I don't own this die, my friend does and we quilt together. I used it to make a quick wedding gift quilt and was so pleased with the outcome. The only challenge was decicing how to lay out all the pieces. There are so many options and each creates another fun look. This die is top on my wish list and on my favorites list.

Overall Rating The Take 5 was my first Studio die, it's fast, it's fun and it makes wonderful quilts so quickly. Great for anyone but fantastic if you make lots of quilts for charities and children. This will be a die you come back to time and time again!

Overall Rating Love this die, but was a little put off when I tried to access the website stated on the front of the die wrapping. Finally after many tries I was emailed the correct website to find that it was NOT a free pattern but a book to purchase. I enjoy using this die and have created many quilts without the help of a pattern or a book.

Overall Rating This is a wonderful die! Used it for the first time today - cut strips as directions said; pressed fabric; cut out with die then made a 12 block quilt - all in about 2 1/2 hours!!! Plus this was the first time I had even used my new Studio, too! I am so hooked on cutting out quilts this way!!!!
