I've wanted to do this for many years. I have the Studio cutter because I didn't want to take it anywhere so it sits in my studio. The ease of the cut makes me happy!
My blocks are perfect every-time. There are no problems that I've found in using these dies. The beauty is if you use a 10" square of fabric for what I call the "Peter" part making sure to center the fabric on the die. You can then take what's left after cutting and cut out the "Paul" part. I separate the sections realign the fabric and place it on the half moon section. When I use both of the 2nd dies I overlap the fabric about a quarter inch for the cut and have had no problems cutting extra fabric. Sewing curves is easier and more accurate than I've ever done. My fabric choice has not been a problem.
Since I'm so pleased with this die I just purchased the "GO Drunkards Path" die, another design I've wanted to do and didn't because I have arthritis and cutting is difficult at times.

I have wanted to make Rob Peter to Pay Paul quilt for more years than I can remember, then Accuquilt came up with the dies. It took me awhile to gather fabrics for my long awaited quilt (for a queen size it takes a lot), but I sat down and cut it out, started sewing it together, those little notches make the matching on curves sooo much easier. Need to pick up a little more fabric for the border. The quilt top is just great and really beautiful, thanks to Accuquilt. Note if you are careful when cutting you can get some of the smaller pieces cut from the scraps of the larger pieces, because as I stated it takes a lot of fabric.

This pattern looks very difficutl and I even purchased the curvemaster foot so that it might be easier. Well I started with loads of pins and the special foot and after one try got rid of the pins and the foot and just used a pin at the start and middle and the curves just fell into place. I couldn't believe how easy it was and how the tabs lined up perfectly. I have so many people fooled into thinking that I am a long time quilter and have only been doing all these types of quilts for a year or so. I would never have been able to do them without your wonderful dies. Thanks so much.

I just used my new Robbing Peter to Pay Paul die set to cut up a 10" Moda Layer cake in 45 minutes or less. The 10" layer cake square is the perfect size for the die. If you cut the center piece first and center the layer cake square on the die, you will have four equal half-moon sections that are each large enough to cut the four matching "melon" pieces. I just made a diagonal slice with my scissors into each of the four corners to cut it all apart and then laid those four sections of the remaining fabric over the melons to cut those pieces. I had just slivers of leftovers to throw away--a super efficient use of the Layercake.

I laid out all 42 of my melons and mixed and matched them with the center pieces for 42 unique blocks. I used Moda's It's a Hoot by Momo, so it will be a very contemporary looking quilt.

Sewing the unit isn't hard if you have had previous practice with the Drunkard's path block. I sew with the "melon" on top and use the method taught by Elisa WIlson of Backporch Designs, who uses a fabric tweezer to match up the final end. Check out her books, website or blog to watch videos on how to sew these curves.

The best parts of this die are how quickly you can cut something that would take hours and hours to cut with templates AND how well the blocks go together because of the matching notches.

I love this die set too. It makes the cutting as easy as 123. I agreed this is certainly not the easiest block to assembly. Practice always makes perfect.

I really like the pattern but for me, it is a little difficult to sew (i'm not a pro by any means). I'm not sure if it's because of the fabric I used or if it was because of the way my machine was running at the time. I sewed a few blocks then put away to try another day.

I have always loved this pattern but never dreamed of attempting it until I got the die set. The little notches are incredibly helpful, in fact I don't think I could have done it without them. It's surprisingly versatile too because a change of fabric or a simple rotation of the block and it looks like a totally different quilt.
