Beginning quilters, occasional quilters, skilled quilters, designers, bloggers, and everyone in between . . . get ready for the AccuQuilt 2015 Quilt Block Design Contest running from March 20 - April 19! Activate the creative wing of your mind and doodle until you can't doodle anymore, or create a quilt block using your favorite design software. Do whatever you have to do to get your creative juices flowing... look at magazines, research quilt blocks online, visit Quilter's Spotlight on our website. You never know where you'll find the inspiration that kicks your imagination into another gear. Play around with a variety of design elements, and the winning quilt block could be yours!
To enter the AccuQuilt 2015 Quilt Block Design Contest, simply do the following:
- Design an original quilt block using AccuQuilt shapes. If you don’t have an AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter and want the sizes of the shapes, you can download the GO! Cutting Equivalents chart.
- Your design can be drawn by hand, with EQ7, Adobe InDesign, or other design software.
- Upload your block image in .jpg, .gif, .tif, or .png format to the contest page.
- Share with your family and friends and encourage them to vote for your entry.
There are over $16,000 in total prizes, including AccuQuilt shopping sprees, over 200 spools of Aurifil thread, The Quilt Show Series DVDs, quilting retreat passes, Robert Kaufman and Island Batik fabric, and much more! Additionally, the grand prize winner's quilt block will be displayed on a 17-foot sign outside of AccuQuilt's headquarters for an entire year. Can you imagine that? Not only do employees get to see your quilt block for 365 days, but visitors who tour our facility will see it, too. No pressure though. Lastly, the winner will get two round trip tickets to Omaha and a 3-night hotel package!
