Hi everyone, it is Connie from Freemotion by the River and today I have a fast and easy table runner using AccuQuilt GO! Qube Serendipity Set by Edyta Sitar.  You’ll also find all kinds of quilting tutorials, quilt patterns, and other things on my blog.

If you don't decorate with red and green or blues and whites for the holidays, you will enjoy this tutorial. Add the right accent and you can have a table runner that fits perfectly with any holiday.

When you use the AccuQuilt dies, it is so easy to match up your pieces. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, complete 36 quarter square triangle sections.

You will combine these with the squares to create 9 patch blocks.

Make  4 blocks that use 5 quarter square triangles and 4 blocks that use 4 quarter square triangles.

Creating die cut blocks

Sew 4 set of 2 blocks together - one block has 5 QSTs and one block has 4 QSTs.

Cut three -  1 1/2" x 10 1/2" sashing strips to separate your blocks. I auditioned a cream and a tan and liked the tan the best. Sew them to the blocks.

Cut two 2" x 23 1/2" strips and two 2" x 13" for the borders. Sew the long strips on first and then the short ones. Always measure your piece before cutting your borders in case you have to adjust a little.

Choosing the right color for the borders

Add your backing and batting and quilt and then bind.
