Welcome to July! We have heat, humidity and a very special Die to Try™, the GO! Flying Fish! This classic Block on Board® or BOB® die is designed to cut a 3-color block in one pass through any GO! cutter, and although this block has been around through the ages, it creates blocks that are anything but old-fashioned!
There are 10 pieces on the die board and cutting just one block by hand would be tedious and time consuming, so let the die and your GO! cutter do the hard work for you! The two-toned foam features screen printed letters to help you keep track of your pieces, and those pieces already have the dog-ears removed to save you even more time by eliminating the need to go back and do any trimming. There are no Y-seams used to construct this block and you’ll get sharp, crisp corners each and every time.
Be sure to check out the free, downloadable block assembly directions found on the die’s product page on our website to see easy step-by-step directions showing that constructing this block isn’t hard at all. This die is sure to spark your creativity as you discover new, exciting designs simply by re-arranging colors! If you have Electric Quilt software, you’ll find this block is already in their library making it easy to get started creating your own unique designs.
This 9” finished block will “play well” with other dies, and your GO! Qube Mix & Match 9” Finished Block, too. Change up the entire look of the project by setting the block on point using the GO! Setting Triangles-9” finished, and don’t forget about teaming it up with the GO! Big Square 9½” (9” finished) to open up space in your project for applique, embroidery or a bold focus fabric. This die is fat quarter friendly and would be a fun and unique way to bust up your scraps, too.

GO! Fishing in a Line Throw Quilt

Just in time for summer, this fun quilt designed by Suzy Webster of Webster Quilts is here to grace your deck, patio or picnic site! Partial units and turning the blocks and units different directions provides a stunning woven look that’s a modern classic in red, white and blue. The double border sets off the design and emphasizes the woven look of this quilt.
GO! Skipping Waves Throw Quilt

The ever-clever Amanda Harward of Larkspur Quilts turned her GO! Flying Fish blocks on point and added an outer border to make them appear to float over the quilt. By adding a fourth color to the blocks, the entire look changes and creates a stunning secondary design that’s all set off perfectly by the dark binding, cut perfectly and in seconds using the GO! Strip Cutter 2½” (2” finished) die.
GO! Twist and Turn Pillow Cover

Striking solid blue ombre fabrics give this pillow cover a very modern “twist”! Lissa LaGreca of Lovingly Lissa designed this 20” x 20” pillow cover that would make a perfect weekend project. Change up the colors to fit any season or décor and you’re set to impress.
GO! Catch the Sun Wall Hanging

This sunny and fun wall hanging is all about color placement. Designer Terri Vanden Bosch of Lizard Creek Quilting has set off the GO! Flying Fish blocks perfectly by pulling in another 9” finished BOB die, the GO! Glorified 9-Patch (one of my all-time favorites!) The GO! Glorified 9-Patch perfectly frames out the center square. Looks complicated? Not at all! The dies will do all the hard work of cutting perfect shapes for you, including notches on the curved pieces making this a quick and fun project for summer and beyond.
So dive on in, the creative waters are just fine, but don’t delay. This Die to Try die is sure to “fly” out the door, and it’s only around for the month, or while supplies last. You can “catch” at AccuQuilt.com our your local AccuQuilt retailer.
