New Gallery Exhibit Featuring 2015 Quilt Block Designs

The AccuQuilt Gallery has a new exhibit featuring seven quilts and 12 block designs from the top 30 entries in last year's Quilt Block Design Contest. Visitors will have an opportunity to see the 2015 Quilt Block Winner Exhibit from now until July 31.

At the center of the exhibit is grand prizewinner Sherry Rose's original design, Rainbow Twinkle, from last year. This quilt was inspired by her family's love of motor sports and racing. The black and white checkered background depicts the checkered flag beautifully, while the vibrant color combination in the rainbow star represents the color scheme found on most racecars.

Abby Burst (below), a quilt by last year's runner-up winner Heidi Fry's, uses AccuQuilt die shapes nicely in an explosion of colorful parallelograms and triangles throughout the quilt.

Lee McCoy was the fan's choice winner last year, and her Chisel Star (below) quilt rounds out the top three designs featured in the exhibit. Her modern design features traditional die shapes with the perfect combination of contrasting colors. The exhibit also includes 12 quilt blocks from quilters who made it into the top 30.

Below are a few more of the great quilt block designs from 2015 that made it into the top 30.
