Patriotic Project Round Up

Memorial Day is right around the corner, making this a great time to look at some creative patriotic projects for you to make. I’m drawn to patriotic quilts and décor projects like wall hangings and table runners, and I’ve basically never met a line of patriotic fabrics that I didn’t love and quickly gather into my “collection”. In fact, a few new fat quarters jumped into my arms just last weekend! So, let’s look at a variety of great GO! patriotic projects I know you’re going to love!

GO! Long May She Wave Flag Quilt

It doesn’t get much more patriotic than this creative take on a flag quilt by Katy Sweigert of Katy Quilts. Katy used our GO! Fractured Tumbler die to create this quilt that would be perfectly at home inside or out. Although the design looks complicated, this is a quick and easy project for quilters of any skill level.

GO! From Sea to Shining Sea Throw Quilt

This stunning quilt has to be one of my all-time favorite AccuQuilt patterns! As complex as it may look, this project is all about color placement and is made with just one die, the GO! Storm at Sea. This wonderful quilt is destined to be one of your very favorites, and it would make a stunning project to make for Quilts of Valor.

GO! Patriotic Wall Hanging

This wall hanging is great for the whole summer! It’s simple to create when you team up the GO! Tumbler-4½” (4” Finished) Die with the GO! Star-2”, 3”, 4” Die. Both dies will work with any GO! cutter including the GO! Me. Stick with 3 fabrics or dip into your red, white and blue scraps – either way you’ll have a wall hanging you love in no time. I love using tumblers for teaching new quilters of any age, and this project is a great way to get started!

GO! 1776 Throw Quilt

Well, the name of this quilt tells you right up front that it’s a perfect patriotic project! Ellen Ault of Handmade 3D created her version of our nation’s flag using the GO! Friendship Chain-10” Finished die with strip cutters to create a quilt that’s a modern classic in my eyes. This quilt features red, white and two shades of blue fabric by Robert Kaufman.

GO! Stripes & Stars Tote Bag

Here’s the perfect bag for shopping and taking projects on the go with you this summer! This red, white and blue tote is accented with shining gold stars you can create in a flash using the GO! Qube! This tote was created by Mary Anne Fontana from Fontana Originals.

GO! Mosaic Stars Throw Quilt

If you’re looking for something with a modern twist, this quilt is just what you need. This quilt combines the GO! Hattie’s Choice-8” Finished die with the GO! Qube Mix & Match 6” Finished Block and a patriotic color scheme. Gina Gempesaw of Gem Hill Quilts created this quilt with fabric from Timeless Treasures that tricks your eye to see curves but it‘s all made with straight seams!
