Double the Dies, Double the Fun!

It’s an exciting day when we launch one new die, but launching two? Well, that’s just extra special! Both of our new dies are Block on Board  (BOB) dies, which means they have all the pieces to make the block on just one die board. No math or digging through your die collection to find all the pieces, these dies are specially designed to make creating classic, complicated looking blocks something quilters of all skill levels will enjoy.

Here are some tips for working with GO! BOB dies:

·       Be sure to follow the Block Assembly Directions for cutting and sewing this block. You can find these on the die package or the die product page at AccuQuilt.com.

·       Sew a test block! Whether you use old fabric you don’t love, scraps or something you can use in a sampler quilt, you’re sure to gain valuable insight by cutting and sewing that first block.

·       Use a mat that is the same size as the die board for best cutting results.

·       Refer to the coloring page at the end of the Block Assembly Directions to help you play with color.

·       Have fun experimenting with partial units and different layouts to create blocks that are all your own.

·       Think about different ways to use the shapes on the die to create borders, corner treatments and more.

The new GO! Friendship Chain-10" Finished and GO! Turkey in the Straw-10" Finished dies are here!

GO! Friendship Chain-10" Finished

The GO! Friendship Chain-10" Finished BOB die creates a classic, interlocking look that feels fresh and modern. Fabric selections and color will make all the difference with this one, and you’re sure to love working with it! The shapes on this die are unique to this block, and featured specialized dog ears and screen-printed letters on the shapes to help you quilt with ease.

The Most Festive Time of Year

There’s still plenty of time to create the festive GO! Christmas Wreaths and Stars Throw Quilt! This project features the interlocking design of the GO! Friendship Chain teamed up with the GO! Qube Mix & Match 10” Block and Companion Corners. This fun quilt was designed by Bea Lee of Bea Quilter, and can easily be changed up for almost any season of the year.

Rainbow Fun

The GO! Friendship Rainbow Throw Quilt.

The GO! Friendship Rainbow Wall Hanging created by Suzy Webster of Webster Quilts, uses the GO! Friendship Chain block in a totally different way, creating a creative, new look that’s fresh, bold and modern. The use of black fabric creates an outline for the rainbow stars the die creates, with a circular look that doesn’t involve sewing a single curve.

Just Add Sashing

Look at what a difference sashing and corner stones can make to your project! The GO! Link Up Wall Hanging connects the blocks with strips and squares cut with the GO! Strip Cutter 1 ½” (1” Finished) die to connect the block units together, totally changing the look of the block and increasing the finished size to 11”!

Stars and Stripes Forever

Fun and festive! The GO! 1776 Throw Quilt

The GO! 1776 Throw Quilt is a fun way to celebrate our nation’s birthday with the combination of stars created with the GO! Friendship Chain die and stripes cut with the GO! Strip Cutter 5 ½” (5” Finished) die. This quilt would make a great donation for Quilts of Valor, too.

GO! Turkey in the Straw

This may be an old block, but the GO! Turkey in the Straw BOB has a fresh new feel to it. As complex as it looks, this block is simple to sew together following the assembly directions! It does go together a little differently than most quilt blocks with the center diagonal section then two corner units, like a giant Signature Block! That gives you a lot of flexibility with how you use the shapes and units from this die.

Try re-arranging the units to form new looks.

Classic Colors with a Twist

The GO! Farmhouse Winter Bed Runner creates a snuggly look.

Studies have shown that the combination of blue and white in a quilt creates a very positive emotional response. The GO! Farmhouse Winter Bed Runner not only teams up blue and white with the GO! Snowflakes-7” die for a snowy look that’s a guaranteed winner.

Bring the Sunshine In

If you prefer a warm and sunny look, how about the GO! Summertime Sunburst Wall Hanging?

You can also create a whole new look by changing up the colors! Be sure to check out AccuQuilt's free color design tool, GO! Quilt, to help you re-imagine this project for any season or decor.

Perfect Partners

GO! Turkey in the Pines combines two BOB dies for a creative look.

The GO! Turkey in the Straw-10” Finished matches up perfectly with the GO! Pineapple-10” Finished to make a true show-stopper with the GO! Turkey in the Pines Throw Quilt. This quilt just “sings” with an array of batiks, but it would be stunning in almost any color combination.
