It may be April Fool’s Day, but our new Die to Try™ for the month is no joke! We’re welcoming our new best friend, the GO! Puppy die. From tip to tail, this adorable die is going to win your heart in no time. The die includes intricate shapes that would be almost impossible to cut by hand and makes it possible to cut 2 complete pups from pre-fused fabric in just one pass through any GO! cutter.
GO! Puppy

One look at this new die and you’ll soon be imaging projects galore. This little darling’s body measures 3 1/8” W x 5 1/4” H, but that’s just the beginning of what this die offers. You also get different style ears to help you create different looks and breeds, a muzzle, tiny heart-like nose, eyes and eye accent pieces and even a bone – because every dog deserves a treat!
With the wide variety of materials you can cut and all these different shapes, you have everything you need to make a wide variety of different projects from quilts and wall hangings to no-sew crafts - you’ve got options galore.
One of the first things I had to do was try re-creating my own dog Riley in fabric form. Riley is my best furry friend, and as a rescue he seems to represent several breeds, including ears that go two different ways. I started with some fluffy Cuddle from Shannon Fabrics and made use of two different ears. I even made him a little scarf for his neck.

The GO! Puppy die is perfect for creating everything you need for pup-themed parties like showers and birthdays. Don’t forget that you can cut cardstock with your dies, and also that you can press pre-fused fabric shapes onto cardstock! You can also cut fun crafty materials like felt, craft foam, leather and cork. Combine other dies with the GO! Puppy to create different looks. Think about using the top hat from the GO! Holiday Accessories or the hat from the GO! Gnome die. Maybe you want to add a cute little heart or bow tie from the GO! Cookie Decorations die – there are just “sew” many options for you.
Here's a look at some fun patterns using the GO! Puppy that you can download for free from AccuQuilt.com.

Embroidery
GO! applique shapes are designed for fusible applique, and you can finish the edges using your favorite method – such as using a decorative stitch, stitching just inside the raw edge of the fabric or even quilting over the top of the shapes. However, if you have an embroidery machine, you can take advantage of the added value of free downloadable outline embroidery for these shapes in your choice of satin, blanket and motif stitches.
AccuQuilt.com also offers more complex embroidery designs for the GO! Puppy that you can purchase and download. Here are just a few examples of what is available!
So, are you inspired to create a few litters of pups and a few dozen projects for them? Be sure to post pictures of your creations, we can’t wait to meet all your puppies! Now remember, the GO! Puppy is a Die to Try™, which means it’s only available for one month or while supplies last, and only from AccuQuilt.com or your local AccuQuilt Dealer.
