This pattern uses one of our most versatile dies the GO! Value die to create the pieced star and the GO! Stars die to cut the applique stars. Check out the pictures below to see how fast and easy it is to cut the pieces for this festive quilt.
Prep your applique star fabric with fusible using the manufacturer's instructions. Place your fabric with fusible over the center star. You can cut up to four layers of quilting cotton with fusible on it. Remember fusible counts as a half layer!
After just a few passes through the GO!, GO! Baby, or Studio (using a GO! Die Adaptor), you'll have all the stars you need for the GO! Starry Stars to GO! quilt.
Next grab your GO! Value die. This is a great die to have in your collection because it is the building block for a lot of classic quilt blocks and endless creativity.
You'll need some of each of the shapes on the GO! Value die. The pattern uses red and white fabric for the pieced star. Both the large square and the small square are white, while you'll need red sections for the half square triangle units.
Notice that Loretta is positioning the red and white fabric right sides together over the half square triangle units. After cutting, your HST units will be ready to take directly to your sewing machine to piece, with everything already in line!
Add your cutting mat on top and roll through your cutter.
