Hi, it's Carolyn Beam with another cute kid-friendly project using the GO! Me. This pencil case can also be used to hold all sorts of little treasures. This case was made using upcycled blue jeans but could also be made with felt, quilted fabric or even using an upcycled wool sweater that has been felted—lots of options!

Supplies Needed:
Fabric Needed:
Old jeans or 1 fat quarter of denim
Scraps of light and medium pink, green and yellow felt (or colors of your choice)
Other Supplies:
3 snap fasteners—3/8" - 1/2"
Precut as follows:
Medium Pink: Precut 2—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 2 large circles
Medium Pink: Precut 2—1" x 1" squares, cut 2 small circles
Light Pink: Precut 2—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 2 large circles
Light Pink: Precut 2—1" x 1" squares, cut 2 small circles
Green: Precut 2—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 2 large circles
Green: Precut 2—1" x 1" squares, cut 2 small circles
Yellow: Precut 2—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 2 large circles
Yellow: Precut 2—1" x 1" squares, cut 2 small circles
Denim:
Cut 1—6" x 10" rectangle
Cut 2—4 10" rectangles
Sewing Directions:
1. Fold one long edge of each 4 1/2" x 10" rectangle under 1". Sew a line from top to bottom close to the raw edge. On the wrong side of each folded edge, mark a dot at 2 1/2", 5" and 7 1/2". Sew 1 part of the snap fastener to each dot on one rectangle. Sew the other parts of the snap fasteners to the dots on the other rectangle.

2. Working with one felt dot at a time, randomly place large and small dots on the denim rectangles. Sew in place with matching thread and a hand blanket stitch.

3. Lay the large rectangle wrong side up. Position the small rectangles on top of the large rectangle overlapping the folded edges in the middle. Pin the layers in place.

4. Use a hand blanket stitch to sew the rectangles together around all of the outside edges. If you prefer, you can sew with a sewing machine 1/4" from the edges.

These little bags work up so fast—cute for yourself or your friends. Try different embellishments as well—flowers, leaves—let your imagination run wild and have fun!
