Hi, it's Carolyn Beam back with another fun project using the GO! Me. This family-friendly pillowcase is easy to sew and can be embellished using animals created with the GO! Me.

Supplies Needed:
Fabric for cows:
Brown: 12" x 12"
White: 1 fat eighth
Pink: 4" x 4"
Black: 4" x 4"
Fabric for pillowcase:
Background fabric: 3/4 yard
Trim fabric: 3/8 yard
Fusible web: 1/4 yard
Tearaway stabilizer: 1/4 yard
Precut as follows:
Note: Apply fusible web to the wrong side of asterisked fabrics following manufacturer's instructions before cutting appliqué shapes.
* Brown: Precut 2—4 1/2" x 5" rectangles, cut 2 owl bodies
* Brown: Precut 4—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 4 large circles
* White: Precut 1—4 1/2" x 5" rectangle, cut 1 owl body
* White: Precut 14—1 3/4" x 1 3/4" squares, cut 14 large circles
* Pink: Precut 6—1" x 1" squares, cut 6 small circles
* Black: Precut 6—1" x 1" squares, cut 6 small circles
Background fabric: Cut 1—25 1/4" x 41" rectangle
Trim fabric: Cut 2—6" x 40 1/2" strips
Sewing Directions:
1. Lay 6 large circles aside for the cow eyes. The remaining large circles are used to create spots on the cows—white circles on brown cows and brown circles on white cow. To add the spots to the cows, remove the fusible web from the circles (it's easiest to work with one at a time). Place the circle where you want it and pin in place (some will extend beyond the shape of the cow). Trim the excess circle from outside the edge of the cow. Fuse the spot to the cow. Be careful that no exposed fusible web touches the iron or ironing board. Repeat to fuse all the spots to the cows.

2. Arrange and fuse the cows on 1—6" x 40 1/2" strip making sure they're at least 3/4" away from the edges of the fabric. With the tearaway stabilizer on the back, use matching thread and a machine blanket stitch to sew around the patches. Remove excess stabilizer.

3. Sew the 2—6" x 40 1/2" strips together along 1 long edge making sure to sew along the bottom edge of the cow trim. Press seams toward the plain strip.

4. With right sides together, sew the short ends of the strips together to form a loop. Press the seams open. Turn loop right sides out and fold in half to make the pillowcase trim.

5. Fold the background fabric in half to make a 25 1/4" x 20 1/2" rectangle. Use a 1/2" seam allowance and sew the long side and 1 short side of the rectangle together. Turn the pillowcase right side out and press.

6. Slide the trim over the pillowcase matching the raw edges and seams and pin. Make sure the cows are facing the pillowcase. Use a 1/4" seam allowance to sew through all of the layers.

7. Press the pillowcase band open, pressing the seam allowance toward the background fabric. If desired, sew a line on the background close to the seam to secure the seam allowance.

Be sure to check out your local fabric or quilt store for fun novelty prints to use for your pillowcase. With the GO! Me, lots of different animals can be created to embellish your pillowcase—you'll want to make several!
