Hi everyone! This is Connie from Freemotion By the River doing a guest post again on the AccuQuilt blog. I've got a fast and easy quilted table runner pattern for you using the AccuQuilt GO! #55338 4" Finished Drunkard's Path die. The finished size is 16" x 32".
Fabric Requirements:
1/2 yard brown
1/2 yard cream print
1/4 yard for binding
20" x 36" backing and batting
Cutting the pieces for the Drunkard's Path block is fast and easy using the die. I was able to cut out all of the pieces in less than 10 minutes! There is very little waste.
Cutting:
Cut 16 - brown L pieces
Cut 16 - cream L pieces
Cut 16 - brown pie pieces
Cut 16 - cream pie pieces
I put 2 layers of each color on the die and was able to cut 4 of each piece at a time. 4 passes through my AccuQuilt GO! fabric cutter.....and I was done! Your pieces will have matching notches on the curved seams. When you go to sew your pieces together, place the L shape piece on the bottom right side up and then place the pie or convex shape on top, right side down. Sew with a 1/4" seam allowance.
Make 32 Drunkard's Path blocks - 16 will have a brown center and 16 with have the cream. Press your seams.
Sew 4 of the blocks together as shown in the diagram for 8 larger blocks.
Sew the blocks together in rows and then sew the 2 rows together.
Layer your backing, batting and top and quilt as desired. Cut your binding fabric into 3 - 2 1/2" strips, join together and bind your quilt. I did a large stipple quilt pattern on the brown part and some straight lines on the cream print.
I hope you enjoyed this post and tutorial and be sure and stop by my blog where you will always find tutorials, patterns and other goodies! Freemotion by the River.
