Flowing in the Breeze Baby Quilt

Hi, it's Bea from Beaquilter again to show a cute baby quilt tutorial using the 8" QUBE set.

8in qube

You'll need the following fabrics:

-5/8yd white
-1/2yd turquoise
-5/8yd purple
-1 1/8yd purple border print
-1/2yd binding (purple)
-Backing and batting

*Finished quilt is 40" x 48"

Starting with the QUBE set you'll need #1, #2, #4, #5 and #8. I like to start with the LARGEST die shape first.

These are just in number order:

with #1 cut out 20 purple (from 3 WOF)

with #2 cut out 40 white (from 1 WOF and scraps) 40 turquoise (from 2 WOF)

with #4 cut out 40 white (from 2 WOF)

with #5 cut out 80 purple (from 3 WOF)

with #8 cut out 40 of border print (from 3 WOF)

Here's the pieces all cut out

sew together 40 units with the geese and 20 of the four patch units

Now sew these into 10 blocks of each with large squares

Sew these into a 4 x 5 layout as shown

cut out (4) turqouise 1 1/2" WOFs and add as inner border (40 1/2" and 34 1/2")

Then cut out (4) border 3 1/2" WOFs and add as outer border (42 1/2" and 40 1/2")

Then quilt the quilt and add 5 WOF strips for binding.

I quilted curves on the middle part and bubbles on the inner border and a leaf vine on the outer border.

here I took a few pics outside

the cutting and piecing was super quick, I think the whole quilt could easily be finished in a weekend!

Hope you like it and try it.
