How to Cut Full Circles:

  1. Select circle size.
  2. Take the blade board that corresponds with the circle size you wish to cut.
  3. Place the blade board in your Studio™ die tray, FOAM SIDE UP.
  4. Take the inner foam boards and fill in the center of the blade board.
  5. Take the foam board that is one size larger than your blade board and place it as the outer ring.
  6. Apply fusible web to fabric if desired. Layer or fanfold your fabric. You can cut up to 10 layers of 100% cotton quilting fabric at a time.
TIPS: Fusible web counts as a ½ layer. Remember to keep the lengthwise grain towards the Studio handle to minimize the stretch of the fabric as it rolls through the cutter.
  7. Place your Studio Cutting Plastic on top.
  8. Roll through the Studio™ Fabric Cutter.

How to Cut Circle Rings:

  1. Select circle ring size.
  2. Take the blade boards that correspond with the width of the rings you wish to cut.
  3. Place the blade boards in your Studio™ Die Tray, FOAM SIDE UP.
  4. Fill in the open area with inner foam boards.
  5. Take foam board that is one size larger than your largest blade board and place it as the outer ring.
  6. Apply fusible web to fabric if desired. Layer or fanfold your fabric. You can cut up to 10 layers of 100% quilting cotton fabric.

Die Tips:

  • You can cut multiple ring sizes at one time.
  • For most accurate cuts, arrange the dies in the corner of the cutting tray.
  • With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
  • For best results, cut with die blades running under roller at an angle. Do not cut with blades parallel to roller.
  • Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
  • For fast applique, apply fusible web to fabrics, then cut shapes with dies.
  • Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
  • It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.

Use adhesive roller to clean lint and thread from dies. After each use, with the die pick provided with the cutter, remove any threads imbedded between blades and foam. It's normal for threads to get caught where blades meet in a die. Remove with tweezers or die pick. Die blades never need to be sharpened.
