Hi everyone! It's Bea from Beaquilter. I'm excited to share a project that comes together so fast you could complete it in a weekend! That's right. You can use it as a table topper or...as an adorable mini quilt! Are you as excited about this tutorial as I am?
An Easy Table Topper Tutorial
I'm here to show you how I made this cute, quick, and easy table topper or mini quilt with the GO! Qube Mix & Match 6" Block and matching companion sets GO! Qube 6" Companion Set-Angles and GO! Qube 6" Companion Set-Corners.
It can really be made with Any Qube set. The finished size is just different :) So, grab your Qube, and let's get started!
Materials Needed
- White 1/2yd
- 1/8yd of EACH of the 2 colors in Light, Medium and Dark (so six fabrics total - plus the white)
- GO! Qube Dies (#3, #5, #7, #9, #10, #16)
Cutting Directions
White
96 of shape #5 triangles
16 of shape #3 triangles
16 of shape #10 signature shapes
Each Light Fabric
- 16 of shape #9 chisels with half of them flipped
Pro Tip: This will happen if you fanfold your fabric, and if you are using solids it doesn't matter. :)
Each Medium Fabric
- 16 of shape #7 parallelograms with half of them flipped
- 8 of shape #5 triangles
Each DARK Fabric
- 16 of shape #5 triangles
- 8 of shape #16 trapezoid shapes
I like to sew as much as possible in one "sitting" before I get up to press the seams, so this is how far I got.
Then, eight of each of these sets.
Sew sections together. You will get eight of each section, like this.
Now, I sewed bigger quarter sections together like this eight of these as well.
Then, 2 x 2 blocks like this, the blocks are now 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" because the block is really Qubes wide.
Finally, I sewed these together into a 24 1/2" x 24 1/2" top and quilted it. I followed up by adding binding in yellow.
GO! Qubes Make Quilting Fast, Easy, and Accurate
Look at that! A quick and easy project completed and ready to bring more life to your home decor!
Remember, you can use any Qube set you have on hand. The blocks will be double the Qube size. Then, it's a 2 x 2 layout so the finished quilt is 4x the Qube size total.
