What’s Inside?
Just like our Mix & Match Qubes, this one holds eight dies organized in our innovative storage box, plus an instructional pattern booklet and cutting mat. Unlike the other Qubes, this one is specially designed for English paper piecing (EPP) with dies to cut both the fabric and paper templates. The Qube hosts four basic shapes – hexagon, half hexagon, equilateral triangle and diamond – that all work together with 1” finished sides. These shapes will help you create more than 36 “fractured hexagon” blocks, just for starters.
Paper Template Dies
EPP is built around the process of basting fabric around a paper template. With this new Qube, you can cut your own paper templates as well as fabric. The template dies will be the finished size of your pieces with 1” sides. Besides cutting the piece, the dies will also cut a small circle out of the center of each template for easy pinning and removal when your project is done, a great time saver!
Fabric Dies
The fabric dies will cut the 4 shapes with a ¼” seam allowance added. This gives you three different options for how you sew your pieces together. You can choose the traditional method of basting your fabric around the templates before hand sewing the pieces together, or you can hand or machine sew the pieces together without the templates – you decide!
English Paper Piecing Made Easy
In addition to this Qube, we have a new book with great instructions and inspirational projects by EPP expert Katja Marek. Whether you are brand new to this technique or a seasoned veteran, this book is a must-have! Katja shares her tips for both traditional English paper piecing and machine piecing these shapes along with six fresh, original patterns. These are definitely not your grandmother’s EPP patterns!
Quilting on the GO!
