Covering the World: One Quilt at a Time Is Back for 2023!

Covering the World: One Quilt at a Time is a pay-it-forward campaign. This year, AccuQuilt has partnered with Island Batik and Baby Lock - who are both also sponsors for the campaign - to encourage quilters to make a quilt and donate it to the charity of their choice. Each week, team members from AccuQuilt and Island Batik will create their own quilt to donate, too. Recipients of a donated quilt will receive a handmade gift that can comfort them and remind them to pass along kindness to others. 

In 2022, AccuQuilt and Baby Lock team members created and donated dozens of quilts. Other quilters who also participated in the Quilt the World campaign donated a whopping 414 quilts to their choice charities. Project Linus received the most donations – 133!

To participate this year, follow these steps:

1. Make a quilt

2. Take a photo of your finished quilt

3. Donate the quilt to the charity of your choice

4. Post your photo on your Instagram OR on the Covering the World One Quilt At A Time Facebook group

NOTE: For an Instagram post, it must be public and cannot be an Instagram story

5. Within your Instagram or Facebook post, include the name of the charity you donated the quilt to and the hashtag #quilttheworld2023

6. Complete this process for as many quilts as you donate between June 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023

By participating in the Quilt the World 2023 campaign and following each step above for each quilt you donate, you will be entered into monthly prize drawings and the grand prize drawing. 

Monthly prize drawings will take place during the first Tuesday livestream event each month. Each of the five monthly prizes is valued at $250 and includes AccuQuilt Rewards Points and Island Batik Fat Quarters.

The grand prize winner will be announced on January 1, 2024. These prizes are valued at $2,700 and the winner will receive: 

• A GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter Starter Set
• Four Fat Quarters from Island Batik
• A quilt kit from Island Batik, including the top yardage and pattern
• 1/2 yard bundle of a complete new Island Batik collection
• A Baby Lock sewing machine
