Game Day Brownies
...and now for something completely different:
If you’re looking for a little something to share with your fellow superfans, check out these team-pleasing treats! This recipe comes from a dear family friend.
Swannie, they’re still the best!
Brownies
- 1 c. margarine or butter
- 4 oz. chocolate
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional, I never add them)
Melt margarine or butter with chocolate and cool slightly. Mix dry ingredients, stir in eggs. Add chocolate mixture. Add nuts (if using) and vanilla. Pour into an ungreased 9” x 13” pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes (better to underbake slightly than overbake)! Frost while still warm, and watch the fans go wild!
Brownie Frosting
- 2-3 c. powdered sugar
- 2 T. butter, softened
- 2 T. cocoa
- Hot coffee or water
Mix the first 3 ingredients and beat well, thinning with hot water or coffee.
